Another day of riding has been
Another day of riding has been.
Down a road traveled before till a new turn we take.
Onto a spur grade we go wondering.
How many bicyclists to encounter this late.

Packed it was not, yet many smiles and distractions no.
Across the raging river after Marokot,
the bridge calmer than the people.
around a new bend, up, a ridge and over a valley.

Very glad to see watermelon not washed away.
At 7-11, a stop quick with a little girls grin.
We couldn’t help, but feel good to have seen.
Up another ridge we rise,

to see Li Yun Tan Reservoir and down at the base,
a water spout gone wild.

A backtrack a little, to see Roman ruins like,
a red bricked Japanese viaduct crumbled.

Yet another hill climb we ride,
wondering what position to be in was best.
It’s a secret, so not to say here was decided.
So instead we crossed 13 and over a bridge condemned.
Tut, tut, another ridge to climb.
Is Fongyuan conspiring against?
A steady ride, a moments lack sleep and an alley of food to take.

Hmm… seasame and maltose crisps…
A new favorite food found.
Let’s not be distracted by taxis and their newly crushed quarter panels,
when they venture too close, too fast.
Home again we soon reach.
70 kilometers,
again,
easily beat.
