  1. Me too! Been chatting about it with Drew for months. You should come down this weekend and ride with us in Nantou.

Did you get your new bike yet? Thats good you are getting your cadences higher and for hill-climbing, it depends on the gear and grade you are on. For me, I ride a 39-23 so when it gets very steep my cadence is around 50ish, but I like to average around 70-80rpm on climbs which is fine.

    • No new bike yet. I spent Saturday in Taichung running around with Michael T and Drew K getting fitted and trying out some Salsa, Surly, Specialized and other custom rides. It’ll probably be March before I get or build up a new bike. In the meantime, I’m knocking my inner chain ring down to 26 from 28.

So are you riding a double with 39/23? Wow, that’s the lowest I’ve ever heard of. Actually, do you mean 39 front, 23 back. If so, turning 50 on the steep is very impressive. I was doing some steep stuff this weekend and barely above 40 with 28 front and 31 back.
