Fisherman at Taipei Port water edge (Taiwan, Asia, Taipei port, Bali-八里)

Riding 10 klicks isn’t much of a trip

Riding 10 klicks isn’t much of a trip,
but low and behold it’s the Taipei Port,
I visit.
A Maersk Line ship is tugged in,
containers a plenty on deck and below.
Along the water edge,
fishermen walk the concrete points of 4.
Careful they tread,
lest they slip and fall.
Across the slough,
Formosa Fun City awaits;
begging for swimwear clad visitors to partake
of water slides down and around.
Near me,
another local comes around to see,
what the white guy does atop
a concrete block.
A look , a shake and a nod and a toddle off he goes
to beer and betel nut.
It’s only morning,
I wonder what 10 more klicks,
will get.
