Looking to Guanyishan from Bali-八里 (Taiwan, Asia, Bali-八里)

Up there, into the green

Up there, into the green.
Lush, thick,
a jungle almost.
Maybe it is.
It’s like that here, you know.
The heat and swelter grows things big,
strong and very, very green.
The critters, be aware,
can give a fright.
The bigger-than-my-thumb crunchy beetle,
screeching monkey
and a fuzzy-scary spider on a trail spanning web
give credence to this place.
It’s not only ours,
but there’s from before.
Though we push them back,
they continue where we might not see.
They wait,
for when we turn away,
they notice
and come back to be.
