Keep Looking and Improving Constantly

I asked my wife this evening if I could watch a movie in bed and after a few moments of deliberation, she relented. That was 90 minutes ago and I still haven’t watched a movie.

“Why not” you might ask, well I got side tracked doing a quick check of my Google AdWords account and found out that I hadn’t a landing page for a keyword phrase of mine that I should’ve had in place since early-2007. This means that Cannonbose was spending money and not getting search visitors where we wanted them to go. As such, despite my desire to relax a little bit and watch a movie, I needed to immediately fix my landing page omission.

Thankfully, Cannonbose operates on the same top-of-the-line TYPO3 content management system that we install and customize for clients. Therefore, adding the new page was a less than a two minute affair. The hardest part of a landing page though, is writing fresh, meaningful, “I’ve got to have you build my website” content.

That writing is what took the real amount of time as I needed to distinguish between Cannonbose’s TYPO3 support and TYPO3 development offerings. Happily, knowing that I was solving a problem for Cannonbose, and knowing I was helping search visitors find the right resource gave me the relaxation that I was so longing for.

Outside of this bit of long windedness, is this, in running our businesses, we must keep looking and improving constantly even when we think we’re good enough or someone else is going to get business that should be rightfully yours.
