Biking Taiwan: Linkou to Bali and back via Wugu – Giant ride
It seems the weather recently has kept the normal Giant group riders home, except me. As more than one person I know has said about me, I must be crazy to ride so much. Hey, I haven’t ridden today, yet…
This Sunday afternoon, Scandia and I found ourselves going our own way down to Bali for coffee at 85 before riding the bike path along the Danshui river. Be warned, the hoards are out on the weekend. So thankfully, I was fine with going slow and taking photos along the way.
Since we were slowed down a good bit by the crowds and getting hungry for dinner, we took a bit of a shortcut up the Linkou plateau. If you want some near straight hill climbing, take a left at 北57 off 108, Family Mart is right there as well. Instead of a nice casual 7 kilometer climb up the 200 meters, you do it in 3. I like it!

That winding ride along the river in Bali would be wicked fun …if there weren’t so many other riders. It’s nearly impossible to pass other riders on long sections of that stretch.

During the week, the bike path isn’t crowded at all. As such, that’s when I’ll normally ride along with some speed. Nice work on the jeremyandjoanne.com website. Good to see you’ve got your personal site setup now.
