Come bike the Northern Cross this weekend
I’m riding the Northern Cross highway this weekend with 4-6 friends. Care to join us for all or some of it?

I’ve put a suggested 7:45 AM meetup pin in Sansia at roads 3 and 110 for myself and the Taipei folks. We’ll overnight in Baling on Saturday. Folks can return via Loudong in Yilan by train on Sunday or overnight in Waiao. Depending upon how I feel Monday, I’ll either ride back via 9, train home from Keelung or bike back via Keelung with others. In the past, it’s bike back from Keelung.

Hi, thanks for the invitation, I’d like to join you guys for the bike trip this weekend. I’ll set out from Taipei, assuming me and the bike find a bus to Sanhsia at that time of morning, and return from Luodong on Sunday.

Sorry about the delay. I didn’t realize I had comments.
Catch the very first 6 AM blue-line subway south to the last stop, Yongning. Then ride south on highway 3 till you hit the 3/110 triangle. I think it’s a water fountain. We’re still looking for a 7:45 AM meet up. Have you ridden long before? I recommend bringing a spare shirt, socks, shorts, flip flops, toothbrush and 2,000 NT. We can get snacks and water along the way. Saturday night though, we’ll need to buy stuff locally for breakfast Sunday morning as we’re heading out at 5 AM or so.

Also, make sure your Saturday morning MRT station handles bikes. You’ll need to visit the ticket booth to buy a ~80 NT ticket for bike and yourself. Make sure to use the elevator and the end subway cars as well. Failure to do so can cause a little ruckus…
