Biking Taiwan: Kaohsiung-高雄 to Jiali District-佳里區

Sunday morning, I woke 3 hours earlier than normal to join Victor and Fane of Velocite for a larger group ride to Jiali District-佳里區.

Surprisingly for me, speedies were off, I was often last man pedaling for the first hour. Of course, I’ve ridden with local riders before and know that they’re very fond of speeding full bore between breaks. As such, they’ll drop back as the ride goes on and the heat turns up.

I might be slow, but I can pace myself

Before 2 hours was over, I was riding near the front. Soon after turning around Jiali’s template of a one-tree forest; I was third, second and then first in front on the way home with a decent 33 kph plus pace before a flat took me out.

Peichi is a Goddess!
