Peichi and I were apart this past weekend as I went to Hanau Germany for the 7th European TYPO3 conference. I had gone to give a presentation on Biceps, an Extbase based qualification requirements management application built by Tina Gasteiger at in2code.
On Sunday afternoon, after a good nights rest from the 450 kilometer drive back, Peichi and I took an hour to bike ride south of Rosenheim. We take weekend rides around Rosenheim to experience more of our new home and figure out where to rent our next flat come February.
During the ride, we found a small, family owned bike shop in Pang that had a couple of nice older Italian steel steeds. One still has the original Japan-made Shimano 105 component group and Look pedals for 129€. Soon, I think I’ll be visiting there again.
This bike ride ended on a good note as I was able to last an hour on my Speedone with minimal pain. Only an early hard-press hill climb gave me hip and nerve issues. After that, I pulled back from 37 kph to a pokey 15-18 kph for the rest of the time.
In a couple of weeks, we’ll attempt riding 35 kilometers along the Inn river to Wasserburg am Inn. To not over stress myself, we’ll come back via a local DB train.
At the end of October, I thinking to return to Bologna and Florence Italy for a long weekend of WWOOFing. Peichi will be staying home and tasting her new bread recipes.
