Yeah, yeah, let the critics begin. I bought another Giant bike, a cheap 16,800 NT SCR 2 with Shimano Sora shifters even.
Am I crazy? Nope. Heck, take a look, she’s a beauty!
I’m just getting tired of bike shopping while bikeless, doing an hour long bus commute versus 25 minutes by bike and not feeling ready to spend big bucks.
Based upon all of the research, testing, and advice listening I’ve done, I realized I needed to become a simple roadie again and then figure out where to go from there. I’m still in love with the Velocite Millennium, but I’ve got to be more sure of what I want before purchasing.
Therefore, since I do have an immediate need for a basic road bike and have a great relationship with my local Linkou Giant shop, I bought a 2010 Giant SCR 2 bike.
I’ll be taking it for a nice ride this coming weekend and hopefully able to give more background on how it rides then.
Hey Michael,
So how do you like the CSR 2? I just started gettting into road biking as I am training for my first 1/2 Iron man in June. I am currently living in Mumbai and the dealer here said he can get me the bike for 32,000 rs. That is a huge difference from the 16,000 rs. you spent. A few important questions for you.
1. How is the bike? would you recommend it?
2. Where did you buy it at such a great price? maybe they can ship it to Mumbai for me.
Thanks
Matt

Did you pay in Taiwan New Dollars? I thought you paid in Indian Rupees
Matt,
I bought the SCR when I was living in Taiwan. Hence the price in Taiwan New Dollars.
As a starter bike and ride for those other than fast downhill descents, it’s a fantastic value. 32,000 RS after considering import duties and shipping is a good price.
If possible, test ride the bike for an hour before finally buying.
Ciao!
Michael
